Seven boxes of two BL6608 sport wraps at $19.99, a grey lens beside a coloured one or a matte frame beside a glossy, which comes to $9.99 a pair.
A pair of sunglasses is lost more often than it is broken, and the two-pack is the brand's answer to that arithmetic. Seven boxes, each holding two of the same 62 mm TR90 wrap: one is the Z01, the matte black grey twice; the other six put a grey lens beside a blue, green, orange or brown one, or a matte frame beside a glossy one. $19.99 a box against $11.99 to $12.99 for a single pair, which is $9.99 each, and the second pair is the one that lives in the car door and never goes to the beach.
The pairing is also a way to try a coloured lens without committing to it. Grey is the everyday lens; the mirror coats and the orange are for particular light, open water for the blue and green, a flat grey road for the orange, and one reviewer who bought the orange found its mirror uneven from centre to edge and rated the box three stars for it. That review sits on the front page. Both pairs in a box share the 137 mm frame, the 123 mm arm and the UV400 rating, so whichever one you pick up in the morning is doing the same work.
UV400 on a lens means the lens is rated to stop ultraviolet light up to a wavelength of 400 nanometres, which covers UVA and UVB, the two bands that reach the ground. That rating is the whole of what a sunglass lens does about the sun; polarization is a separate property that cuts reflected glare and, in the words of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, provides no UV protection on its own. The academy also says a darker lens is not a safer lens and that the sun's rays pass through haze and cloud, so the number to read on any pair, ours included, is the UV rating rather than the tint. A pair of sunglasses is not treatment for any eye condition, and light sensitivity that arrived suddenly is a question for an optometrist or ophthalmologist, not for a lens.
Every sentence in this note about the eye comes from a named public source. All of them, with the date we read them, are on our updates page.

03Asked before ordering
What people ask us about two-pack sunglasses before they pick a pair.
Yes. Every lens in every box on this page carries the polarizing TAC film and the UV400 rating; the only thing that changes between the two pairs is the tint or the frame finish. The Z01 is two identical grey pairs, the others are a grey and a colour.
The Z02 or the Z04: a matte black grey wrap for the road beside a blue or a green mirror for the water. Grey keeps colours exact behind a wheel; the mirror coats throw back more light off a lake. The Z03 puts an orange beside the grey instead, which suits a flat overcast day better than a bright one.
